Overview

Aviagen is the world's leading poultry breeding company, developing pedigree lines for the production of broiler chickens and turkeys, and has a number of wholly owned operations and joint ventures worldwide.

We seek a self-motivated accounting intern to support the Group Accounting team by preparing information and packages for group finance and accounting functions and other functions in the accounting department. This job will report to the Group Controller.

The Aviagen Internship Program is a 10-week paid summer internship. This program allows college students to gain foundational knowledge of our business in a challenging and collaborative environment.

:

• 10 weeks of challenging, hands-on, real-life accounting experience
• Assist with day-to-day, and monthly accounting operations.
• Assist the Group tax department with compliance and planning
• Assist with special projects and other duties as necessary
• Mentorship and coaching by seasoned accounting professionals.
• The chance to prove yourself in a highly rewarding industry.

Job Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a 4-year accounting program
• 2nd or 3rd year preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Word
• Ability to work well with others
• Willingness to learn
• Detail-oriented & ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to self-motivate, work with a sense of urgency, and to prioritize tasks
