At the Institute of Human Genetics at the Medical University of Innsbruck (Division of tumor genetics), a position of a

Biomedical Scientist / Medical Technician (m/f/d)

is immediately available on a full-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years; a long-term perspective is envisaged.

The area of responsibility includes the entire tumor(cyto)genetic laboratory diagnostics in the field of haemato-oncological diseases: cell culture, chromosome preparations including various staining methods, conventional karyotyping, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), microscopy and molecular genetic methods such as massive parallel sequencing, ddPCR and others.

A prerequisite for this position is a qualification as a Biomedical Scientist, Medical Technician, or a similar degree. Basic knowledge of laboratory methods as well as interest in genetic issues, preparedness, commitment, openness for teamwork and willingness to carry responsibilities are expected. Experience in cell culture and/or molecular biological methods is an advantage. We offer a challenging, varied range of clinically important tasks in a motivated team.

The monthly minimum salary is currently € 2.958,88 gross (14 times a year). It may possibly increase on the basis of the provisions of the MUI Kollektivvertrag, through the crediting of job-specific previous experience and through other salary components associated with the special features of the workplace.
