In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

  • Lead end-to-end responsibility for major capital projects ≥ EUR 20.0mn in the centralized/static P&E PU, including portfolio management and PPL nomination process.
  • Strategically plan and execute cross-border PPL activities, managing unforeseen CAPEX changes with flexibility.
  • Oversee engineering activities PRE-FEED and FEED, providing standard frame contracts, tendering, and negotiation for major projects.
  • Assume governance roles in decision bodies (Steering Committees, Sourcing Councils) aligned with PU lead.
  • Establish spend transparency and conduct operating and cost model analysis.
  • Strategically plan procurement demand for the category and sub-categories.
  • Identify and analyze strategic optimization levers for total category spend.

Your profile

  • Master's degree in Technical or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth expertise in extended procurement processes, including Supply Chain Management, guarantee and claim management, legal background, and proficiency in various contract forms (EPC, EPCm, GCCs).
  • Extensive operational experience in international major projects exceeding EUR 200.0mn, with a focus on contracting strategy, category optimization through market analysis, and utilization of optimization levers like specification and cost analysis.
  • Proficient in state-of-the-art transactional procurement procedures, encompassing tenders, negotiations, contracting, and purchase-to-pay processes, with additional strengths in leadership and management, especially in overseeing cross-functional, multicultural global teams.
  • Advanced IT skills, including MS Office, SAP, and procurement applications.
  • Excellent English, German Knowledge advantageous
