Nature and aim of the position
We are looking for a new member in the central IT department which is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of IT database systems at Global Blue. This includes businesses critical production environments as well as internally used back-office IT services.
Embedded in a small team of experienced database administrators the holder of the position will assume responsibility for services within the DBA portfolio.
Main duties and responsibilities

Assume role of lead dba for selected services out of the DBAportfolio

Operate, patch and monitor

Design, deploy, upgrade and update documentation

Act as backup dba for other services out of the dba portfolio

Support main DBA
-
Substitute during leave of main DBA
-
Provide 2nd level support for all general IT services within our portfolio, specifically:

Microsoft SQL Server
-
MongoDB
-
Pervasive PSQL
-
Database Backup Services
-
Follow ITSM policies for change, incident, and problem management

Adhere to the strict company security policies and guidelines
Reporting and collaboration
The position is based in Vienna and reports to the Manager of Compute DBA in Vienna. The position requires close collaboration with other teams like the network, the compute service, the application or the service center team as well as with service delivery managers and product managers within the organization.
Requirements
Profile and education

University degree in IT or related field or equivalent practical experience

Min 3 years of professional experience as Database Administrator

Programming and scripting knowledge (PowerShell, SSIS)

Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server or at least two of the technical areas below:

MongoDB
-
Pervasive PSQL
-
Oracle
-
Microsoft SQL Reporting Services
-
BI Services
-
Good understanding of Database life cycle management (installing, maintaining, optimizing, configuring).

Good understanding IT security best practices.

Desirable: ITIL certification

Good English language skills (both oral & Written), German - optional
