Your New Role

As a Civil Engineer specializing in infrastructure planning for a new circular economy process plant, you will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing the infrastructure component of the project based on a logistic study. Your primary focus will be on facilitating both inbound and outbound transportation via truck and rail transport. Special attention will be given to designing the facility's rail connection, planning the rail network within and outside of the operation site including overseeing loading and unloading operations involving trucks and rail tank cars. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers, planners, and other professionals, reporting to the general project leaders for large-scale projects to ensure that projects meet technical requirements, comply with regulatory standards, and adhere to budgetary constraints.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site assessments and implementing logistics feasibility studies
  • Planning traffic routes internally and access routes in road and railway engineering
  • Planning technical infrastructure for rail systems including tracks, switches, rail crossings and signals, as well as road infrastructure
  • Technical planning of loading and unloading facilities for tank wagons and trucks
  • Preparation of construction plans, including calculation of material requirements, costs, and schedules
  • Collaborating with the project team, suppliers, and authorities to obtain permits
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize rail infrastructure projects in terms of cost, efficiency, and environmental compatibility.

About You:

For this role, it would be beneficial to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Completed degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing rail and truck infrastructure projects.
  • Profound knowledge in areas such as track construction, surveying technology, building materials and construction regulations.
  • Familiarity with applicable legal provisions under the Austrian Railway Act.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Power BI, relevant technical software).
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and work outdoors.

Remuneration - the salary for this position will be between €78,960 - €93,640. Overpayment may be negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
