We are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our team and ensure cost optimization in the Global Sourcing - Electronics department. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for all strategic agendas in the Electronic Components product category. Your main tasks will include the strategic development of these product groups as well as the re-evaluation and further development of the supplier portfolio. You will be responsible for driving forward cost-saving and development projects.

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring cost optimization for the main product groups/categories for which you are responsible (e.g. taking into account total costs of ownership, turnover rates, delivery performance)
• Carrying out professional supplier management (search, selection, classification, further development, implementation and risk assessment)
• Proactive market observation and analysis as well as escalation management
• Interface with R&D and the procurement market to evaluate new technologies and products
• Leading complex contract negotiations and professional contract management
• Risk and strategy management for the main product groups/categories for which you are responsible
• Data analysis, controlling and reporting
• Strategic cooperation with global ABB category teams for electronic component

Your background

• Completed commercial and technical training (e.g. industrial engineering)
• Several years of relevant professional experience in international purchasing
• Market knowledge and experience in the field of electronic components (semiconductors, embedded products etc.) desirable
• Confident handling of MS Office applications, experience with SAP module MM an advantage
• Very good knowledge of German and English
• Diplomatic and assertive personality with strong negotiating skills
• Enjoy a varied job with a high degree of personal responsibility and hands-on mentality
