The University of Vienna (20 faculties and centres, 184 fields of study, approx. 10.400 members of staff, about 90.000 students) seeks to fill the position of a University assistant (prae doc) as soon as possible, limited to 4 years at the Research Group Data Mining and Machine Learning at the Faculty of Computer Science under the supervision of Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Inform.Univ. Dr. Claudia Plant
The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna has world-leading researchers in computer science who conduct both basic and applied research. As a member of the Data Mining team, you will work on exciting data mining projects and have the opportunity to take on responsibility at an early stage, publish the results at leading international conferences and exchange ideas with international and interdisciplinary cooperation partners.
Your future tasks:Participation in research, teaching and administration:
The research should focus on data mining, e.g. clustering, representation learning, causality detection and graph mining.

Duration of contract:
The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.
The position will be filled from 01.05.2024 to 30.04.2028 for 4 years.
