The environment, the team has to operate, is quite complex and includes a lot of different technologies and vendors like Azure and AWS hosting platforms (mainly IaaS services utilized), Windows and Linux servers, Firewalls, Networking which also includes VPN access into customer environments, Monitoring, Backup, Patching and a lot of different automation mechanisms and tools.

The role

• You will be responsible for hosting a variety of different IT services, including deployment, maintenance, and management, that we provide to our customers.

• In addition to hosting activities for third-party products such as SNOW, Flexera, or CommVault, you will primarily focus on automation activities in customer environments while also handling a variety of different use cases within SoftwareOne. These hosted IT services are an integral part of our global managed services and are provided to our delivery units and groups.

• You work with complex technologies and architectures

• Each team member has a broad range of knowledge within the technologies used

• Although each team member must be involved in all technologies used, each of them has a specific area of focus and acts as a subject matter expert and advisor and supporter to their teammates.

• You are responsible for security, firewall, and network areas.

What we need to see from you

• Good knowledge in the Networking area (VNets, peering, network security groups, port forwarding, NAT, DNS, SSL, TLS, etc.) - in general but also including practical experiment to implement in Azure and AWS environments, hand on experience with at least one Enterprise Firewall Plattform (eg. FortiGate, Barracuda NGF, CheckPoint)

• A good understanding of relevant security components, mechanisms, and technologies such as firewalls, encryption protocols, VPN technologies, etc.

• Experience in operating stateful inspection firewalls, including Web Application Firewalls (WAF)

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with encrypted communication, including protocols, mechanisms, architecture, and VPN technologies

• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell

• Implementing and maintaining automations to manage and optimize our IT infrastructure

• Querying cloud platforms using PowerShell

• Retrieving data from APIs

• Experience with setting up, maintaining, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows operating systems. This includes mainly Windows 2019+ as well as SUSE, Ubuntu, and RedHat systems.

• Knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• Terraform

• Ansible

• Python

• Windows AD

• Microsoft Entra (former Azure AD)

• Linux Scripting (Bash)

• AWS Console Experience

• Azure Portal Experience

• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of German is a plus.

• The collective labour agreement applies to the advertised position. The minimum basic salary is EUR 2,635 per month for 38.5 hours per week, with a willingness to overpay in accordance with the collective agreement
