Selby Jennings is working closely with a global alternative investment management company, who manage a discretionary global macro trading strategy across liquid commodity, foreign exchange, fixed income and equity markets.

They are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the dynamic team in Vienna. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects within a fast-growing company, tackling data challenges and leveraging your expertise in Python and related technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Data Team to design, develop, and maintain web systems, dashboards, and services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python, Django, and other relevant technologies.
• Implement frontend components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work on backend components utilising SQL databases and Linux environments.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Collaborate closely with team members to understand project requirements and contribute innovative solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in software engineering.

Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in a software-related role.
• Proficiency in Python, Django, Linux, Git, SQL, HTML+CSS, and JavaScript.
• Prior technical experience in a software-related role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Postgres, Redis, Asyncio, React, and gRPC/Protobuf is a plus.
