Position Overview
The Finance Systems Administrator, is primarily responsible for the administration of Global Blues Finance application(s), including system maintenance and configuration, release testing, workflow optimization, as well as user training and support.
In addition, the Finance Systems Administrator will actively support projects aimed at process streamlining and automation by maximizing the utilization of existing functionality as well as identifying, implementing, and integrating between modules and systems.
This position requires cross-functional close-collaborative work with Accounting, IT, Corporate Finance, and other internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
Stay up-to-date with releases to lead and coordinate execution of updates and implementation of new functionality, fixes, and/or enhancements to maximize the effectiveness of adoption, ensuring compatibility with existing configurations for the groups accounting software
Identify and resolve technical issues, system errors, and performance problems within the finance applications in collaboration with IT in a timely manner
Lead or assist in projects, such as system migrations, integrations, or enhancements, and gather user requirements, design, configure, test, and implement systems and applications.
Continuously evaluate and optimize financial processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and advise the business on best practices to better optimize our tools.
Design and implement automated processes and workflows to streamline business operations and improve productivity. Enhance the use of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) enabled tools.
Maintain data integrity and accuracy within finance applications, including data imports, deduplication, and maintaining data hygiene best practices. Maintain comprehensive documentation on configurations, processes, and procedures.
Security and Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on data security and SOX compliance, implementing appropriate security measures and adhering to organization policies.
Provide training to users on the latest features and best practices and offer ongoing support to address user queries and issues.
Stay Current with the latest trends: stay informed about new application features and best practices to leverage the platforms effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelors in one of the following: Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting.
5+ years of demonstrable experience in a Finance System Administrator role
Strong detailed understanding of common industry standard business practices as related to Accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Invoicing, Taxes)
Understanding of systems analysis, including root cause analysis and other process modelling and systems design methodologies
Must have a solid understanding of change control and testing methodologies
Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) skills
Knowledge of Financial Systems and IT terminologies a must
Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into technical requirements and solutions.
Ability to work with technology partners and vendors to manage the delivery of desired outcomes.
Must have strong communication (verbal / written) and management organizational skills and ability to work as a liaison between functional business groups and Information Technology
English business fluent
Ability to work in a fast -paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
Maintain a positive can -do attitude and proactively reach out to users to provide good customer service
Critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Visual Basic and SQL scripting a plus.
Familiarity with RPA preferred.
Previous experience working in a SOX environment is a plus.
