Welcome to our team!The Department of Government, subunit of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is looking for a university assistant (post doc) in research areas represented at the Department of Government, especially on political representation, party competition, political institutions or political behavior.Your personal sphere of play:Your future position is at the Department of Government, characterized by excellent research in comparative European and Austrian politics. The position is to be filled from September 1, 2024 and is limited to 6 years.Staff and Students appreciate internationality, outstanding research projects, interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange between colleagues.Your future tasks:You develop and strengthen an independent research profile, including internationally visible publicationsYou present your work internationallyYou hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreementYou publish internationally in leading international journals (SSCI)You supervise students (BA and MA)You participate in the administration of the departmentThis is part of your personality: Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Political ScienceOwn research agenda on political representation, party competition, political institutions or political behaviorExcellent knowledge of quantitative social science methods in data collection and analysisInternationally visible publication record or advanced manuscripts (revise & resubmit)Excellent command of written and spoken EnglishAbility to work in a teamWhat we offer:Work-life balance: Our employees enjoy flexible working hours, remote/hybrid and/or part-time work (upon agreement).Inspiring working atmosphere: You are a part of an international academic team in a healthy and fair working environment.Good public transport connections: Your workplace in the center of beautiful Vienna is easily accessible by public transport.Fixed-term contract and fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 4,752,30 (14 times a year).
