We utilize underground reservoirs to store natural gas during times of low demand and withdraw it during times of high demand.To connect the reservoirs to our surface facility and ultimately to the gas grid we use wells. Sand, which is present in the reservoirs, will clog these wells over time, causing a decrease in performance and lifetime, if no preventive measure is taken. To optimize the monitoring and prediction of the clogging of wells, OMV is aiming on digitalizing this process.You will get an insight in Developing a predictive maintenance tool utilizing historical data to extend the lifetime of the wells of OMV Gas Storage.Getting firsthand insights into the current development of the European and Austrian energy market as well as gas infrastructure and energy storage business.Applying your knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to develop a solution to a real-world challenge.Preparing and analyzing historical data and building predictive models based on it.Support in finding an ideal solution for accuracy, possible tie- in into the existing tech stack and usability of the models.What we are looking for You are a currently enrolled student.You are fluent in English or German.You have a background in a technical discipline, e.g. chemical, industrial or petroleum engineering, data science, mathematics, physics, etc.You have experience with MS Excel, Python, and pandas.You are a self-organized, analytical, and creative solution finder.What OMV can offer Compensation between € 1.300,- and € 1.400,- depending on your level of education.An international, diverse and dynamic work environment.The opportunity to develop professionally and personally.A challenging internship where you can apply your theoretical knowledge in practice.Free coffee & tea as well as daily fresh food in our subsidized canteen.Networking events and workshops exclusively for our interns.LOCATIONVienna, Head Office.START DATESJune, July, August 2024.DURATION6 months (full time equivalent internship).In the meantime, we welcome you to follow us on LinkedIn to stay up to date with news, articles and jobs.Your contact Please contact Marie-Celine Junker for further Information.
