In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

• Support the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) activities at OMV sites and projects in the field of corrosion, metallurgy and (electro-) chemistry.
• Evaluate new damage mechanisms due to the implementation of new technologies and sustainable feeds.
• Support failure analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and recommendations for material and corrosion related topics.
• Support the development and improvement of processes and workflows.
• Assist the internal technical authority on material & corrosion.
• Support integrity and inspection activities on site during plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Maintain communication and cooperation with other departments and sites.
• Prioritize health, safety, security, and environmental protection in the workplace, participate in HSSE trainings, and promote integration into company culture.

Your profile

• Master degree in chemistry, process/chemical engineering, metallurgy/material science or other relevant technical study.
• Profound understanding in corrosion, metallurgy, and chemistry with interest in process and chemical engineering.
• Strong interest in laboratory analysis, literature studies and standard review.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• German and Romanian are of advantage.
• Must be available for occasional business traveling.
