In Chemicals & Materials, OMV through its subsidiary Borealis, is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. Together with its two major joint ventures - Borouge (with ADNOC, in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar (with TotalEnergies, in the USA) - Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

Our business

Your tasks

  • Ensuring compliance with legal, OMV, and internal HSSE regulations through regular checks and implementation of corrective measures, following instructions, rules, and applicable operating procedures.
  • Conducting safety audits and documenting them in the corresponding IT system, as well as performing random checks to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Participating in HAZOP, SWIFT, RBI, and other analyses, incident investigations in the assigned production area, and deriving necessary actions within the team.
  • Continuously optimizing and contributing to production planning, considering safety, environment, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Regularly monitoring and providing instructions for plant operations while ensuring process safety.
  • Providing guidance on the efficient use of resources, chemicals, and catalysts, and collaborating with relevant departments to initiate, develop, and implement improvement measures.
  • Creating reports on plant performance, assessing them, and proposing improvement actions.
  • Collaborating on projects related to new and replacement investments, participating in projects to ensure operational requirements, and preparing investment submissions (change requests) for the responsible area.
  • Handling special tasks as directed by the Department Manager or Head of Department Operations in the assigned production area.

Your profile

  • University degree (master/diploma) in process engineering, mechanical engineering, technical physik and/or technical chemistry.
  • Passion for Process Design and Optimization and an organizational talent.
  • Building and sustaining partnerships and networks.
  • Flexibility: The capacity to adapt to different situations, people, or groups effectively.
  • Basic Conflict Management Skills and an entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Fluent in English and German.
