Overview

Aviagen is the world's leading poultry breeding company, developing pedigree lines for the production of broiler chickens and turkeys, and has a number of wholly owned operations and joint ventures worldwide.

The IT Technician position will be part of our Help Desk team on-site at our Crossville, Tennessee, location and is responsible for building and maintaining internal software tools and systems that aid our operations and help us make better use of our data.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows systems, with Linux preferred, and experience in network administration. This role will primarily focus on troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues in a break/fix environment, conducting network installations and configurations, and configuring handheld terminals and PCs for a large group of local users.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on Windows and Linux systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance tasks in a break/fix environment.
• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and infrastructure.
• Conduct network installations, including switches, routers, and access points.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
• Document all activities, solutions, and procedures for future reference.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to end-users.
• Build and manage distribution of handheld terminals and PCs to end users

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or related role.
• Strong proficiency in Windows operating systems with some exposure to Linux.
• Experience with network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
• Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with network installations and configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+,) are a plus.
